Metallica е американска thrash metal група, основана през 1981 година в Лос Анджелис. Тя е сред най-успешните метъл формации в света и ключови представители на thrash метъла от осемдесетте години.
Албумът S&M2 (Symphony and Metallica 2) е издаден през 2020 година от издателство Blackened и съдържа повече от два часа и половина запис от съвместните концерти на Metallica и San Francisco Symphony, състояли се на 6 и 8 септември 2019 година в Chase Center в Сан Франциско. Това е продължение на успешния проект S&M от 1999 година. Тройният CD комплект предлага 25 записа, включително класически хитове като Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters и Master of Puppets, както и оркестрови произведения на Прокофиев и Мосолов.
През 2019 година групата се състоеше от основателите James Hetfield (китара, вокал) и Lars Ulrich (барабани), както и китариста Kirk Hammett и басиста Robert Trujillo.
