Afflicted е била шведска death metal група от Стокхолм, основана през 1988 г. първоначално под името Afflicted Convulsion. Стилът им беше определян като „Psychodelic Ultraviolent Heavy Grindcore“ и съчетаваше technical death metal с елементи от thrash metal.
Компилацията Beyond Redemption / Demos & Eps 1989-1992 на троен LP събира ранния материал – демозаписите Toxic Existence и Psychedelic Grindcore от 1989 г., демата Beyond Redemption и The Odious Reflection от 1990–1991 г., промоционални записи и EP-то Rising to the Sun от 1992 г. Съдържа общо 30 песни, документиращи развитието на групата преди издаването на дебютния студиен албум, включително няколко версии на песни като Utilization и Parental Infanticide.
